The ranking uses the share of GCSE or IGCSE grades awarded at 9-7. It does not blend this with Attainment 8, EBacc or inspection data.
DfE-derived values are ranked only when the detailed file records at least nine GCSE grades per pupil. A school-published combined GCSE/IGCSE result can replace incomplete DfE coverage.
Some IGCSE-heavy schools remain unranked until their own published result is verified; absence is not a quality judgement.
FAQ
Private secondary-stage schools need a verified GCSE or IGCSE grades 9-7 percentage. DfE-derived values also need at least nine recorded GCSE grades per pupil.
Some independent schools enter substantial numbers of IGCSEs that are not fully represented in DfE performance-table files. The threshold prevents a partial subject set from being presented as the whole-school result.
Not every private school has complete published DfE performance data. Missing data does not mean weak results.
