Cranford School

Cranford House opened in 1931 when Miss Winifred E. Laurence began a school shaped by imaginative teaching and progressive ideas. The co-educational day school now runs through early years, junior, senior and Sixth Form stages at Moulsford in South Oxfordshire, carrying a continuous pathway from the first years into Upper Sixth.

Curiosity, resilience, collaboration and self-belief sit alongside academic ambition. Learning is intended to be challenging and responsive to individual needs, with independent enquiry and enrichment woven into the curriculum. The all-through structure lets pupils grow through successive stages while keeping the senior years connected to the character of the wider community.

More than 100 clubs and activities run each week, covering music, performing arts, sport, trips and other interests. That scale gives pupils regular opportunities to practise, perform, compete and work with others beyond lessons. The offer is broad without losing the sense of a local school community built around familiar staff and long-term relationships.

The main entry points are Pre-School, Reception, Year 7 and Year 12, although places in other year groups can be considered when available. Registration leads to an age-appropriate taster and assessment day. From Year 2, pupils also complete an online assessment, while Year 7 and Sixth Form applicants follow dedicated assessment days and timetables.
