More parent questions
What is an 11 Plus consortium?

An 11 Plus consortium is a group of schools that shares an entrance test or part of the admissions process. One result may support applications to several schools, but each school still applies its own admissions policy.

Does every area have one shared 11+ test?

No. This directory includes shared consortium tests, county-wide tests and areas with separate school assessments. Yorkshire, for example, has different school routes, while South West Herts includes academic, music and sports pathways at partially selective schools.

Does passing the test guarantee a grammar school place?

No. Qualifying in an 11+ test and receiving a school offer are different. Places can depend on the school’s admissions rules, score ranking, catchment or distance, and any further test stages. Check the current policy for each school you plan to name on your application.

Where can I find 11+ practice papers and registration dates?

Each route guide brings together test details, key dates and links to official resources. Available downloads are labelled by type, including past papers, sample questions and familiarisation materials. Check the official school, council or consortium page for the current registration deadline and test arrangements.
