Luckley House's story runs from Luckley School's 1918 foundation through its 1959 amalgamation with Oakfield, a 2013 name change and the move to co-education in 2015. That history now underpins a Church of England/Evangelical community for day pupils and boarders through Year 13.
Academic life is broad and tailored. Lower years cover English, mathematics, science, languages, engineering, humanities, religious studies, art, computing, music, photography, PE, textiles, food and nutrition and Life Skills. Study skills, learning support and careers guidance sit alongside GCSE and A level work, giving the curriculum a distinctly individual shape.
Boarding can be flexible, weekly or full, within a community that brings day pupils and boarders together. Visual and performing arts, sport, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and enrichment add variety, while the Whitty Theatre gives performances a dedicated setting. The sixth form extends the same day-and-boarding model to Year 13.
Entry is direct and registration is available at any time. Years 7 and 9 applicants take CAT4 and creative-writing assessments, then provide an educational reference and attend a senior-leadership interview; Sixth Form entry uses a reference, interview and GCSE expectations. The relevant independent-school standards were met in December 2024.
