Bethany School

Bethany School combines a 60-acre Weald setting with co-educational day and boarding education for ages 11 to 18. Its community is shaped by the virtues of being careful and courageous, with room for pupils who need stretch and for those who need support. Senior school, sixth form and boarding occupy one rural setting, so the residential and academic parts of the experience are closely connected.

The educational framework is built around a virtue of learning model and a Christian ethos. Tailored education, independent-learning opportunities, spiritual understanding and pastoral care sit alongside a curriculum that lets pupils encounter many subjects before GCSE choices are made. GCSE and A-level study includes vocational options, while the sixth form is intended to bridge school, university and independent life.

Boarding is part of the everyday organisation rather than a separate add-on. Houses have common rooms, kitchens and gardens, with prepared meals, weekend activities and allocated prep time shaping life beyond lessons. Day pupils share the same senior and sixth-form route without the residential element, while the longer day and co-curricular programme include sport, music, drama and other activities.

Main entry years are 7, 9 and Sixth Form, with Years 8 and 10 and in-year applications possible subject to places. Year 7 includes a registration deadline, entrance assessment and taster day. Sixth Form offers consider reports, references, interview and predicted grades, with a usual threshold of four GCSE grades 4-9.
