Frensham Heights School

Frensham Heights gives individuality a practical place in school life. Co-educational day and boarding education runs from the early years to Sixth Form, with no uniform and close teacher-pupil relationships supporting a culture built around creativity, empathy, courage and happiness. Academic work is treated as one part of a wider education rather than the sole measure of it.

GCSE and A Level programmes sit alongside discussion, independent thinking and outdoor education. Older pupils take part in expeditions, climbing, high ropes and cycling, and the school holds Gold Standard accreditation from the Association of Heads of Outdoor Education Centres. Creative subjects, sport and pastoral care are given room within the same broad timetable.

Boarding includes full, weekly and flexible places within the wider day school. Small Sixth Form classes support a programme focused on independence, creativity and personal growth, while the younger years move through a structure that keeps relationships with teachers central. Formal qualifications sit within a daily culture that is deliberately less conventional than many independent-school settings.

Admissions look at potential as well as academic readiness. Years 7 to 11 include an interview day, assessments, reports and a school reference; Sixth Form entry includes assessments, an interview and subject requirements. Means-tested bursaries and limited support for mild learning difficulties are available.
