Overview

Bearwood's restored Victorian mansion anchors Reddam House Berkshire, which opened there in 2015 on an estate of more than 125 acres. Early learning, junior, middle, senior and Sixth Form pupils share the campus, while boarding runs from Year 7 to Year 13. Academic work, performing and creative arts, and sport provide three connected strands of the day.

In the senior years, CHEX extension tasks ask pupils to apply knowledge, solve problems and connect classroom work with wider experience. Independent learning and individual guidance run through the programme from the Early Learning School to Sixth Form, giving the unusually long age range an academic thread as well as a shared setting.

Boarders live in Drake House, Blake House and The Loft, with full, weekly and flexible options. Entry from Year 3 uses an entrance examination; Year 7 applicants normally meet the Head of School, and taster days, references and interviews appear at different stages. Sixth Form offers depend on final GCSE results and availability, so a mid-year enquiry is not the same as a confirmed place.
