Overview

A merger with Saint Martin's, introduced from September 2020, gave Solihull School its current two-campus structure. The 40-acre Warwick Road site has been part of its story since 1882, while the Preparatory School occupies the Saint Martin's campus. Together they serve a co-educational day community from age 3 to 19.

Later additions include the George Hill teaching building, the David Turnbull Music School and the Cooper Building for Sixth Form. Sports facilities, the Martyn Garner Building for Outdoor Education and a mountain cottage in Snowdonia support expeditions and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, giving the campus programme a strong practical dimension.

The Sixth Form has a four-storey centre with A-level classrooms, study rooms, IT facilities, social areas and a cafe. Students have more independence in how they use the day, alongside subject teaching and enrichment in politics, debating, sports coaching and Mandarin. Visiting speakers and higher-education guidance extend the programme beyond lessons.

Responsibility is part of the Sixth Form experience. Students can join the School Council, mentor younger pupils, take House Captain or Head of School roles, volunteer in the Prep or Senior School and choose weekly Games. Music, theatre, sport and outdoor education add breadth; the January 2024 routine inspection recorded the relevant standards as met.
