Overview

Quaker principles give Leighton Park School its starting point: simplicity, truth, respect, integrity, peace, equality and sustainability. Founded in 1890, it welcomes pupils of all faiths and none into day and boarding education from 11 to 18. The 65-acre parkland setting is part of the texture of life as much as the backdrop.

Its Future Ready Curriculum brings critical thinking, creativity, innovation and interdisciplinary work alongside subject knowledge. STEAM connects science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics, while Sixth Form pupils choose A levels or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Nearly 100 activities extend that exploratory approach beyond lessons.

Weekly and full boarding sit within a community of about 150 boarders from more than 40 countries. Fryer House is for Years 7 to 9; Reckitt House and School House serve senior girls and boys, with resident teachers in each. Year 7, Year 9, Pre-Sixth and Lower Sixth are the main entry stages, considered through assessment, references and interview.
