Ballard School

A 34-acre setting supports Ballard School's through-school structure from age 2 to GCSE. The co-educational day school in New Milton has a four-class senior structure, while small classes and tailored pathways keep the focus on individual pupils. Early years, prep and senior phases are connected, but each has a clear developmental role as pupils move towards examination choices.

Before GCSE, the curriculum ranges across linguistic and cultural, mathematical, scientific, technological, human and social, physical, aesthetic and creative fields. Offers depend on availability and a best-fit assessment rather than a specified entrance-score threshold. Main entry points are Early Years, Reception, Year 3 and Year 7; from Reception, pupils attend a taster day, and Year 7 applicants take part in an Admissions Day with design technology, music, science and sport activities. Years 10 and 11 have limited entry, so a GCSE transfer needs early discussion of places and course sequence.
