The Grange School

Bollin, Dane, Gowy and Weaver form a visible house structure for competition, activities and shared identity in the senior years. The co-educational setting spans junior, senior and Sixth Form stages across two sites in Hartford, Northwich. This shared framework gives the different age groups a connection without making the senior years feel detached from the rest of the setting.

Academic study is paired with enrichment and personal development. Senior pupils choose modern languages, move from combined science into separate sciences and select nine GCSE subjects including English and mathematics. Sixth Form adds small-group teaching, personalised pathways and the Extended Project Qualification, keeping room for both examination preparation and independent work.

More than 70 clubs sit alongside sport, trips, visiting speakers, music and drama competitions. Activities continue after lessons, and the library stays open into the early evening. The programme also includes leadership and The Grange Award, so school life extends beyond the timetable without losing its academic centre. There is no boarding provision.

The Grange is academically selective, with main entry points at pre-school, Reception, Year 3, Year 7 and Year 12. Taster days, application, assessment and interviews form part of the route; assessment can cover verbal, non-verbal, mathematical and spatial reasoning together with creative writing. The age range is 4 to 19 and Sixth Form provision continues the same mixed day-school model.
