Trinity School

Trinity School's institutional story reaches back to the John Whitgift Foundation, established in Croydon in 1596. The school moved to the former Shirley Park Hotel site in 1965 and now occupies 27 acres. Its Sixth Form has been co-educational since 2011, with girls due to enter Years 6 and 7 from September 2027 as the school moves towards full co-education by 2031.

The day-school route serves pupils from 10 to 18, with entry at 10+, 11+, 13+ and 16+. Younger pupils meet French, German, Spanish and Chinese alongside Latin before later specialisation. In Sixth Form, A levels sit beside the Trinity Diploma, which creates space for independent study, interdisciplinary work and project-based learning.

Music, drama, art, sport, leadership and clubs give the academic week a broad frame. Results for 2025 included 86.4 per cent of GCSE grades at 9 to 7 and 95 per cent of A level grades at A*, A or B. Those outcomes sit within a programme that combines subject choice with organised enrichment, rather than treating examination courses as the whole of school life.

The move to co-education is being phased by year group, so the experience will change across the next several years. Admissions cover the four entry routes, with entrance assessments, scholarships and bursaries forming part of the process.
