Bosworth Independent School

Bosworth began in 1977 as a small tutorial college and has grown into a co-educational day and boarding school with a strongly secondary and post-16 character. Students join from Year 7 upwards and can follow GCSE, A-level and University Foundation Programme routes. The combination of examination courses, university preparation and boarding gives the Northampton school a focused structure rather than an all-through one.

Small classes, subject-specialist teaching and individual guidance shape the academic experience. Students from the UK and overseas study together at the Newton Building and Avenue Campus, creating an international community within a compact college setting. Academic extension and university preparation sit alongside the examination timetable, with support organised around the student’s course and next stage.

Life outside lessons includes co-curricular activities, leadership and academic extension. Day students have supervised morning and end-of-day provision, including a flexible homework period, while boarders have dedicated time for homework and study within the boarding timetable. Pastoral support and participation are therefore built around the different routines of day students and boarders.

Admission is direct to the school. Applicants choose a course and provide supporting material such as an English certificate, academic reports and passport evidence. The current application process includes CAT4 testing, transcripts, meetings for UK applicants and interviews or language evidence for overseas applicants when a meeting is not practical. SEND requirements are discussed before assessment so that appropriate provision can be considered.
