Ewell Castle School

An old castellated mansion is part of Ewell Castle's identity, but the school is more than its setting. Founded in 1926 after earlier schools at Leicester House and Barrow Hedges, it now brings early years, prep, senior school and sixth form into a co-educational route through age 19. Its history and present structure give the school a sense of continuity without making it feel tied to one era.

The academic model combines a broad curriculum with EC Skills for the 21st century, small classes and personalised pathways. Pupils encounter languages, classical civilisation, science, music, drama, dance, sport and outdoor learning, while fieldwork, visits and the senior Mathematics Clinic connect formal study with practical and intellectual challenge.

School life continues through Duke of Edinburgh activities, trips, performances and sport. The sixth form provides a further academic stage within the same community, and the senior campus gives pupils access to the character of Ewell Village as well as the facilities of the school. There is no boarding, so the experience remains centred on a co-educational day route.

The main senior entry points are Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12, with occasional places considered when a year group has space. High-ability scholarships normally offer 10% to 25% fee remission, alongside separate bursary arrangements. The September 2025 routine inspection judged the relevant standards met.
