Beech House School

Beech House is organised in three stages: lower preparatory education for ages 2 to 7, upper preparatory education for ages 8 to 11, and a senior school for ages 11 to 16. The co-educational day school in Rochdale also has a separate lower-prep site, giving its early years a distinct place within the wider structure.

All relevant Independent School Standards were met in February 2024. The curriculum was balanced across the required areas of learning, supported by a detailed assessment framework, with provision for pupils with SEND and for those learning English as an additional language. Pupils gained places on a range of further-education courses, although the level of challenge was not consistent in every lesson.

Literacy and numeracy are particular priorities, alongside creative work such as photography, computing, PSHE and careers guidance. The enrichment programme had a limited number and range of activities at that point. Those features give a useful outline of the school's educational character, but they should not be taken as a complete subject, qualification or activities menu for every year.
