A former priory still shapes Repton's setting, linking the present community to the grammar school founded by Sir John Port in 1557. Senior and Sixth Form pupils share a co-educational day and boarding model in which academic study and house life are closely connected. Around 70 per cent of pupils board, while day pupils also belong to boarding houses.
The academic programme spans sciences, languages, humanities, creative subjects and technology. Sixth Form pupils can specialise, and the Lower Sixth programme links public speaking with higher-education preparation and careers work. Curiosity, independence and participation beyond lessons sit alongside the formal subject offer.
Sport, music, art, drama, weekend activities and regular trips keep house life active through the week, with pupils using campus facilities beyond lessons. Entry is offered at 13+, 14+ and 16+, with younger applicants normally moving from Repton Prep at 13+. The route is tailored to each enquiry, so the entry point determines the relevant process.
