Madani Secondary Girls' School began with 17 pupils, moved to Rampart Street as numbers grew and relocated in 2001 to its present Myrdle Street setting, formerly occupied by Grenfell Primary School. That history now frames a Muslim day education for girls aged 11-18, with sixth-form provision and no boarding.
The curriculum is fully comprehensive, with breadth, balance, challenge and progression for pupils with different abilities and aspirations. GCSE study sits alongside assessment, careers, wellbeing, safeguarding and special educational needs provision, creating a senior route that joins academic preparation to the practical support pupils need through adolescence.
Tarbiyyah places character development beside Islamic learning, discipline and moral formation. Prefects and a school council give pupils formal roles in the life of the setting, while the combination of Islamic Studies, academic subjects and pastoral structures keeps the ethos visible in everyday routines.
Entry requires an application, two references, an educational report and a processing fee before entrance examinations and interview. Mathematics, English and Islamic Studies are used for the main route, with Science added for specified years, followed by an admissions day and taster day. The London setting is separate from the co-educational Madani Academy in Portsmouth.
