Overview

Kingswood's senior story begins on Midsummer Day in 1748. The foundation moved from Kingswood in Bristol to Bath in 1851 and opened on the present site the following year; co-education returned in 1972. That long history now supports a mixed 11-to-19 community for day pupils and boarders.

The senior journey moves through Lower School, Middle School and Sixth Form. In Year 9, English, mathematics, sciences, computing, geography, history, a modern language, RPE, PSHE and games sit beside choices including art, drama, design technology, Latin, music and the Global Goals project. GCSE pupils typically study nine or ten subjects. Six Senior Houses, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and Army Ten Tors add structure beyond lessons.

Boarding is available from Years 7 to 13 in full, weekly, flexi and occasional forms, with boarders and day pupils sharing houses and activities. Year 9 entry uses English, mathematics, science, non-verbal reasoning and foreign-language assessments followed by a group interview.
