Overview

Don Bosco's legacy is still visible in Salesian College's Catholic character and its welcome to students from other denominations and faiths. Founded for boys in 1901, the Farnborough community now has boys in Years 7 to 11 and a co-educational Sixth Form. That change gives the older phase a different shape from the boys' senior years below it.

Years 7 to 9 follow a core curriculum including English, mathematics, science, languages, humanities, computing, music, drama, physical education and religious education. GCSE pupils study core subjects and choose further options. The Sixth Form adds A levels across sciences, humanities, languages, creative subjects and social sciences, with the Extended Project Qualification and Young Enterprise.

PSHE is taught in dedicated form-time lessons and through the wider curriculum, with themes revisited as pupils grow older. A purpose-built music school, specialist IT rooms, a Sixth Form centre, sports fields and a 4G pitch give the programme practical settings beyond ordinary classrooms.

Year 7 applicants can attend open events. External Sixth Form applicants submit subject choices, a personal statement and career aspirations before interview, with taster days available. Salesian is a day school with no boarding. The relevant standards were met in March 2026.
