Overview

Immanuel College was founded in Bushey in 1990 by Lord Immanuel Jakobovits to bring Orthodox Jewish values into conversation with a strong secular education. Jewish life is not an occasional addition: daily Tefillah and Jewish Studies sit within the timetable, giving the 11+ to sixth-form journey a clear religious and academic rhythm.

Years 10 and 11 combine English, Mathematics, Religious or Jewish Studies and Double or Triple Science with three further choices. At IC6, pupils can follow a traditional A-level route or blend A levels with BTEC, with an Extended Project Qualification available to many. That combination makes the sixth form a continuation of the college's dual emphasis rather than a change of direction.

For 11+ entry, applicants sit GL Assessment papers in Mathematics, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning before interview and a school reference. Academic, Jewish Life & Learning, creative writing, art and music scholarships form additional routes, while the sixth form has its own application and interview process. The Bushey campus, coach network and co-curricular programme give the model practical reach.
