Archdeacon Robert Johnson founded Oakham School in 1584, and that historic beginning remains part of a fully co-educational community near Rutland Water. The current 10-18 journey moves through Lower, Middle and Upper School to Sixth Form, combining boarding and day places within one campus and one pastoral framework.
Oakham connects academic, pastoral and co-curricular life through a curriculum that asks pupils to think creatively and critically and to make links between subjects. GCSEs occupy the middle years, while Sixth Form choices include A Levels, the International Baccalaureate Diploma and BTECs. The staged structure gives each age group a clear next step without breaking the wider continuity.
