Loughborough Grammar School

Loughborough Grammar School carries a history that reaches back to 1495, when Thomas Burton's bequest helped establish a school in the parish church. Today it remains a boys' school within the Loughborough Schools Foundation, sharing a co-educational campus with Loughborough High School. Boys aged 10 to 19 can follow day or boarding routes, with the setting allowing the two schools to work alongside one another while retaining distinct identities.

The academic journey is arranged through Lower, Middle and Upper stages before Sixth Form. Learning support, English as an additional language, careers work and the Clinical Applications Pathway sit alongside the core curriculum, while the school's digital-learning and AI work gives the academic programme a contemporary direction. The co-educational campus adds opportunities for collaboration without changing the Grammar School's all-boys character.

More than 160 clubs and activities sit beside sport, music, performing arts, the Combined Cadet Force and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Careers and Futures connects pupils with alumni, employers and external organisations, and supports work placements and post-18 applications. Boarding extends that programme into a supported community for pupils from the UK, Europe and overseas.

Entry is direct to the school and normally begins with registration for the relevant examination. Families can visit at an open morning or arrange a private tour, with taster days available during the process. The school offers entry routes through the lower school, senior years and Sixth Form, alongside information about fees, scholarships, bursaries, transport and boarding.
