Churcher's College

Richard Churcher's bequest founded a Petersfield school in 1722 for ten or twelve boys to study writing, arithmetic and navigation. The college later moved to Ramshill and grew to include a Junior School and Nursery at Liphook. These sites now form one co-educational community, with the Senior School and Sixth Form in Petersfield and continuity across the wider age range.

Senior pupils can study English, mathematics, sciences, modern languages, history, geography, Latin, classical civilisation, art, drama, music, design and technology, religion and philosophy, PE and sports science. Sixth Form choices extend through Ancient History and a broad range of arts, languages and sciences, allowing students to keep a subject they value or combine disciplines in a new way.

Activity is part of the college's ordinary week. The Combined Cadet Force, Duke of Edinburgh's Award and Model United Nations sit beside debating, coding, science projects, creative writing, music, drama and dance. Saturday fixtures, water polo, fencing, climbing and open-water swimming add further opportunities for pupils who want their education to include challenge and performance outside the classroom.

The principal senior entry points are 11+ for Year 7 and 16+ for the Sixth Form, with a 13+ route also available. Year 7 applicants take English, mathematics and verbal reasoning tests, while 13+ adds non-verbal reasoning. Sixth Form offers depend on GCSE-grade conditions and an interview, linking the admission decision to the chosen course.
