Check the basics
- Test date, venue and arrival time.
- Candidate number or test confirmation.
- What the child should bring.
- Travel and backup travel.
- Illness or special-arrangements guidance.
- Result date and CAF deadline.
Keep the child steady
Short, focused practice can be useful. So can sleep, food, exercise and reassurance. A panicked final month rarely improves a child’s performance or confidence.
Do not pause school research
While the child prepares, parents should keep reading school policies and checking journeys. Results day is easier when the school list is already realistic.
