Yateley Manor School

Yateley Manor is developing a senior phase alongside its Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep sections. The current Senior School covers Years 7 to 9 and gives older pupils a dedicated base, with study areas, lockers and social spaces of their own. It is a deliberately small stage of the school, intended to make the move to specialist teaching feel connected to the relationships and routines pupils have already built.

In Years 7 and 8, pupils take on visible responsibilities: leading a class to assembly, supporting younger children at break times, welcoming visitors and, for some Year 8 pupils, working as prefects. These roles sit alongside specialist teaching and mentoring. The school treats public speaking, collaboration and the habit of contributing to a group as things that are practised regularly rather than reserved for a handful of formal occasions.

The academic programme keeps practical and creative work close to core study. The senior hub is supported by music rooms, drama studios, art and design workshops, while trips, fieldwork and residential experiences extend learning beyond the timetable. The wider curriculum is designed around connected subjects and independent thinking, with pupils encouraged to ask questions, reflect on their work and take ownership of how they learn.

Yateley Manor's senior provision is still growing and is focused on the transition into GCSE study rather than a sixth-form model. Its character comes from that developing scale: a close senior community, specialist teaching, practical responsibilities and a school day in which academic, creative and co-curricular work are kept in conversation with one another.
