Christian principles, academic ambition and personal integrity have shaped Tower College since Charles and Muriel Oxley founded it in 1948. The co-educational day route runs from age 2 to 16, and the values of Resilience, Integrity, Scholarship and Enrichment connect the early years with GCSE study.
Teaching begins in the early years and continues through the Middle and Upper School. National Curriculum elements are joined by English, mathematics, sciences, humanities, computing, languages, music, art, physical education and PSHE. Independent and collaborative problem-solving sit alongside academic work, giving the stated values practical meaning in lessons and relationships.
Pastoral care runs from Preschool through Year 11, with communication with families and support for wellbeing alongside expectations around respect, kindness, responsibility and integrity. Clubs, sports teams, performing arts, trips, visits and workshops extend the curriculum, tying enrichment to classroom learning rather than treating it as a separate programme.
Admission can take place at several stages, with Reception and Year 7 common entry points. Visits are followed by two taster days, informal assessment for younger pupils or an online assessment for Middle and Upper School applicants, then a school report and a place subject to availability and suitability. In April 2024, the relevant standards were met across the areas considered.
