Tiferes

Tiferes brings Orthodox Jewish education from the early years through key stage 4, serving girls aged 3 to 16 and up to 550 pupils. The curriculum and community are rooted in the Orthodox Jewish life of Prestwich and Salford, giving the school a continuous girls' route from early education to the end of secondary study.

The curriculum is broad and ambitious, sequenced across the age range with knowledge and skills revisited over time. Subject leaders check for gaps in understanding, and reading is a priority. Pupils generally achieve well in the key stage 4 subjects they choose, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, although areas requiring improvement remain.

Daily life is calm, welcoming and purposeful. Clubs, trips and visits to the Houses of Parliament and museums sit alongside leadership roles, local charity fundraising, careers advice, work experience and talks from external speakers. Staff and parents spoke positively about care and partnership, while pupils were described as polite, exceptionally well behaved and keen to learn.

In July 2025, quality of education was judged good, behaviour and attitudes outstanding, and early years provision good. Overall effectiveness, personal development, and leadership and management required improvement; some independent-school Standards remained unmet, including aspects of relationships and sex education and preparation for life in modern Britain. The annual day contribution is voluntary, and no online prospectus is available.
