Overview

Tettenhall College Incorporated grew from an 1863 foundation by local businessmen and later expanded around Tettenhall Towers, the Grade II listed building bought in 1943. Girls entered the sixth form in 1969, and full co-education followed in 1982. That history still gives the college continuity as it serves ages 2 to 18 with senior, sixth-form and boarding provision.

Years 7 to 11 combine academic study with practical investigation. Geography includes fieldwork in Britain and abroad, while history develops work with periods, evidence, analysis and extended writing. Music, performing arts, sport and enrichment add creative and active dimensions to the senior programme, giving pupils more than an examination route alone.

The sixth form includes A Levels, the Cambridge Technical in Performing Arts and the Extended Project Qualification. Seven pathways, including Medical Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Creative and Performing Arts, Sports, Business and Enterprise, and STEM, connect subject choices with additional skills and experiences linked to future aspirations.

Boarding is available in full, weekly and flexi formats for pupils aged 10 to 18. House Parents support weekday prep, activities, sport and music, while weekends bring trips and local outings. Rooms and shared spaces vary by age, with sixth formers often having single study rooms. Day education, boarding and sixth-form life are closely connected rather than functioning as separate tracks.
