Overview
Stover's story is tied to the estate from which it took its name. The present school was founded in 1932 on 64 acres and later moved from a girls' day and boarding model to full co-education across preparatory and senior stages. Provision now runs from age 3 to 18, includes a sixth form and has a family-style boarding house.
Senior education combines Key Stage 3 and 4 study with experiential learning and enrichment. The approach is non-selective and shaped by Christian family principles, with practical work used alongside classroom teaching. That combination gives the senior years a hands-on character while retaining a broad academic curriculum.
The sixth form has its own centre with communal and private study areas, a careers library, a garden and space to socialise. Subjects span science, technology, engineering and mathematics, languages and societies, and the arts. Small classes, independent work and contribution to the wider community are treated as important parts of sixth-form life.
From Year 7, activities change each term and are built into the school day. Performing arts, challenge and inspire sessions, nurture activities and outdoor pursuits sit beside rugby, football, hockey, tennis, cross-country, golf, equestrian activity and shooting.
