St John's School

St John's in Sidmouth has the feel of a small international community, with Nursery, Reception, Junior, Senior and Sixth Form provision joined by a personalised approach. International Education Systems provides the wider setting, while the day-to-day education moves from early learning to IGCSE and GCSE study and then into post-16 choices.

Early learning combines indoor work with outdoor play, forest school, swimming, PE, music and Spanish. Junior teachers tailor targets while building knowledge, resilience and kindness; later pupils move through a broad subject range. An English-language programme adds a route for international pupils who need that additional support.

Sport, art, music and drama shape life beyond lessons. Individual music tuition, performances, art competitions, clubs and Welly Boot Camp give different ages ways to practise and perform. Boarding adds trips, arts and crafts, quizzes, cookery and sport to the routines of residential life.

The Sidmouth community is mixed, day and boarding, for ages 2 to 19, with a Sixth Form. Applicants begin with a tour, registration fee and three taster days; most then complete assessments, with reports and references also requested.
