Sibford School

Meeting for Worship is a distinctive part of Sibford School's Quaker inheritance: a shared time of stillness and reflection in which pupils and staff may speak if moved to do so. Founded in 1842 as a Quaker boarding school for Quaker families, the co-educational day and boarding community now runs from early years to Sixth Form.

Endeavour, respect, community and kindness continue to shape the stated values. The curriculum includes traditional academic subjects, creative arts, technology and horticulture, with co-curricular activity alongside classroom work. Pastoral provision is tied to emotional wellbeing, mutual respect and belonging across early years, junior, senior and Sixth Form stages.

Quaker practice does not require a fixed set of beliefs. Families with different perspectives on faith can engage with the moral framework of the Quaker tradition, while pupils share a common rhythm of reflection and community life. That combination gives the curriculum and pastoral culture a clear identity without assuming that every family has the same religious outlook.

Boarding begins from Year 7 in full, weekly and flexi forms. Two boarding houses provide a family-style setting where residential pupils from the UK and overseas share daily routines, build independence and take part in the wider life of the community alongside their studies.
