School of Coding AEP Limited

Technology is woven into the alternative route at School of Coding AEP Limited. Opened in 2025, the independent mixed provision in Wolverhampton serves pupils aged 13 to 16 who may have disengaged from previous education or need a different route through secondary study. There is no boarding or Sixth Form.

Learning is adapted to individual starting points, interests and needs. The curriculum policy places a safe, caring environment, positive behaviour, improved attendance and access to qualifications beside the academic offer. Functional Skills and OCR GCSE English and mathematics sit with OCR Computer Science, personal wellbeing, digital skills and Python; workskills, sport, coding and robotics add further practical strands.

The Wolverhampton centre is an accredited OCR examination centre. Its approach can combine core learning with technology specialism, with an individual learning plan shaping the timetable. SEND or medical information and baseline English and mathematics assessments are part of building that plan, rather than an afterthought once a pupil has started.

Places are referral-based through an educational establishment or local authority. The admissions sequence includes an interview and visit, an individual plan, relevant information, baseline assessments and a tailored timetable, with commissioners agreeing support and start arrangements. Entry is therefore tied to the referral and placement process, not a conventional open application round.
