Sancton Wood School

Sancton Wood School provides co-educational independent day education in Cambridge, from nursery to age 16. Its nursery, prep and senior school occupy separate Cambridge sites, with the senior school based on Bateman Street. Sancton Wood is part of Dukes Education, whose local network describes an all-through route across its settings.

Sancton Wood broadly follows the National Curriculum while developing independent learning. Specialist teaching and subject choices extend across languages, science, computing, arts and humanities. Senior pupils take an independent research and presentation course at Key Stage 3, can study an HPQ, and choose GCSE options including Latin, Mandarin, Psychology, Sociology and Astronomy.

Prep has science, art, drama and music rooms; the senior building has three science laboratories and specialist rooms. The school also describes more than 100 enrichment opportunities each year, including activities, trips, visiting speakers and pupil leadership.

Applications are considered from Nursery through Year 11, including mid-year entry where places are available. The process may include an assessment or taster experience, with open mornings available. Scholarships are offered at Year 3, Year 7 and Year 9. Sancton Wood has no boarding provision.
