Sackville School

Since 2023, Sackville School has kept the school day free from mobile phones. The change sits within a co-educational 11-to-18 community on 26 acres near Tonbridge and Sevenoaks, with sports pitches, an off-road cross-country track, woodland and a fishing lake. It is a practical detail that helps explain the emphasis on conversation, attention and individual relationships.

The Senior School moves from a broad Key Stage 3 curriculum into GCSE study in Years 10 and 11. Revision support, mentoring and regular progress tracking accompany subject teaching. In the Sixth Form, A levels sit alongside Level 3 courses in food science and nutrition, travel and tourism, and sport and exercise science.

Small classes and specialist teaching are part of the experience from Year 7 to Sixth Form. The phone-free arrangement is intended to create a more balanced relationship with technology, while the wider pastoral approach keeps individual attention close to daily teaching. The school is co-educational and has no boarding.

Years 7, 9 and 12 are the main entry points, although applications at other times can be considered where a place exists and the mainstream curriculum can meet a pupil's needs. Applicants complete mathematics, English and short creative-writing assessments, and a reference is requested from the previous school.
