Ryde School with Upper Chine

Body, mind and soul are represented in the three stars on Ryde School with Upper Chine's crest, while its torch stands for knowledge through experience. The Island community has educated pupils for more than a century and now carries children from age 2 through the Sixth Form. The result is an all-through setting in which the senior years remain connected to a longer educational journey.

Years 7 to 9 follow the Ryde Global and Pre-Senior Baccalaureate programme before GCSE and IGCSE courses begin in Year 10. Sixth Form students can choose A levels, the International Baccalaureate Diploma, the IB Career-related Programme or BTEC courses. These routes are framed around knowledge, character and independence rather than a single qualification model.

Boarding is available as full, weekly or flexi provision, with dedicated staff, weekend activities and no exeat weekends. Day pupils can use flexi boarding on selected nights. Sixth Form boarders live in Centenary House, with study spaces and access to the wider facilities, so the residential offer changes with age.

Admissions are described as non-selective, subject to a place and the relevant requirements. Tests are used to check access to the curriculum rather than as a competitive entrance examination. Sixth Form entry uses an interview and GCSE results, including grades for chosen A level or Higher Level IB subjects; visits, registration and scholarship enquiries follow the admissions process.
