Overview

Learning for life is the thread running through Queen's College, a motto rooted in its Methodist foundation. Established in 1843 as the West of England Wesleyan Proprietary Grammar School, it moved to its present setting in 1846 and took its current name in 1887. Early years, prep, senior and Sixth Form pupils now share a co-educational day-and-boarding community.

Independent learning sits alongside a dedicated Sixth Form Centre and Futures support for university, apprenticeships and other progression routes. Teaching gives attention to individual pupils, with senior and Sixth Form provision structured around the next stage of study. Its long institutional history and explicit progression support give the senior years a clear direction.

More than 100 co-curricular opportunities span sport, performing arts, outdoor education and creative or intellectual activities. Model United Nations welcomes pupils from Year 9 to Year 13, and the annual QuMUN conference brings schools together across the South West. Boarding houses provide residential staff, study and social space, pastoral support and an emphasis on developing independence.
