Noorul Uloom joins a girls' secondary education with an Islamic scholarly route that continues beyond GCSE. Its mission places tarbiyah, academic study, support and Islamic ethos together for pupils aged 11 to 23, creating a long secondary and post-16 pathway for girls from Blackburn with Darwen and surrounding towns.
The GCSE programme includes English Language and Literature, mathematics, combined science, geography, ICT, Arabic and Urdu, with history, computer science, textiles, physical education and PSHE adding breadth. Alongside it sits a six-year Alimiyyah course in Islamic theology and Arabic.
