Overview
The Montessori Place organises learning around mixed-age communities rather than a single age group moving through identical lessons. Children move from Infant Community to Elementary, while the Young People's Community extends the Montessori approach into adolescence across the Hove and Eason's Green settings.
In Elementary, Guides introduce materials and children choose, practise and revisit work at their own pace. Mathematics, language, science, history and culture are explored through prepared rooms and outdoor spaces that connect ideas with real things. Adolescents work in open cycles towards external qualifications, with more responsibility for planning and managing their time.
Eason's Green adds study, work and community living to the adolescent experience. Young people share decisions and take responsibility for food preparation, gardens and maintenance with adult guidance. Places begin with an open afternoon, conversation and waiting-list application; a visit and trial day may follow when a place becomes available. The registered Hove base and the Eason's Green provision form one two-site offer.
