Meoncross School

Meoncross School is built as a co-educational journey from nursery through GCSE, with a registered age range of 2 to 16. The Upper School covers 11 to 16, with no Sixth Form or boarding, and the recorded roll is 313 pupils. That gives the senior years a defined destination: pupils move through a continuous day-school route and finish with GCSE rather than continuing into an in-house post-16 phase.

Upper School teaching uses secondary subject specialists, with GCSE choices beginning in Year 9. English, mathematics, science, languages, humanities, computing, design, food and nutrition, music, performing arts and sport all feature in the offer. Core subjects continue through Years 10 and 11 alongside options, keeping breadth in place while pupils begin to shape their examination programme.

The facilities support that range. A refurbished library, science laboratories, ICT, music and practice rooms, art, design technology and textiles spaces, a performing arts studio, gym, all-weather pitch and six-acre sports ground give different subjects their own practical settings. Clubs through the Meoncross Activities Programme are joined by trips in theatre, science, languages and outdoor education.

Admissions are direct, with Upper School visits and taster opportunities as well as a mid-year route involving taster days. The curriculum was broad and effective in 2024, with GCSE achievement linked to good progress. Meoncross therefore combines a through-school structure with a specialist-led Upper School and a clear day-school endpoint at 16.
