Marathon Science School

Marathon Science School grew from a 2009 opening in Lewisham into an Islamic educational model that joins secondary study with cultural education and an extended daily routine. Seven Hills Educational Trust supports pupil placements through fundraising, a detail that matters to the school's access story. The provision is for boys from ages 10 to 19 and includes boarding, bringing older pupils into a setting built around study, faith and community.

The academic programme covers mathematics, English language and literature, combined science, history, geography, computer science, religious studies, Islamic studies and PE. Turkish and Arabic are included as modern foreign languages, while careers guidance forms part of the wider preparation. The stated GCSE target is eight subjects, with A-level study in modern foreign languages also included in the senior pathway.

Marathon's 24-hour model connects lessons with supervised study, tutoring, sport, arts and personal development. Boarding includes dormitories, study spaces, halal meals and round-the-clock supervision. Football, swimming and wrestling sit alongside visits and overseas trips, so the day extends into organised activity rather than ending when classroom teaching finishes.

The admissions route starts with an online form, followed by a tour and test booking. A boarding applicant may also have an interview or boarding trial. Places are offered in application order for each year group, making the timing of an application significant for families considering either the day or boarding route.
