Since 1515, The Manchester Grammar School has paired a selective boys' education with scholarship, individuality, kindness, resilience and service. The day route runs continuously from age 7 to 18, including the sixth form, so its historic identity is carried through Junior, Lower, Middle and Sixth Form phases without boarding.
GCSE and IGCSE courses lead to A level and International A level study. Boys may take up to four languages through GCSE and A level, while the subject departments support particular interests within an academically demanding, traditional framework.
Libraries and a super-curriculum extend work beyond formal qualifications. Together with the academic departments and the values that shape the community, they give the senior experience an intellectual and civic character rather than reducing it to examination preparation.
