Madani Academy

Madani Academy builds its identity around Muslim faith, academic study and daily character formation. The co-educational Portsmouth setting opened in 2014 and serves ages 5-16 without boarding, linking academic, spiritual, moral and social development within a secure Islamic environment. It is distinct from the girls' Madani setting in London and has no sixth form.

The curriculum follows the British National Curriculum with Islamic teaching alongside it. English, mathematics, science, history, geography, computing, art, PE, design and technology, Arabic, PSHE and religious education sit beside Quran, hadith, fiqh and Islamic history. The secondary route includes GCSE subjects, Hifzul Quran and a part-time Alimiyya option.

Tarbiyah is woven through daily life through worship, Sunnah, responsibilities to family and society and personal character. Trips, workshops, visitors, community activities and collaboration with other settings extend that ethos beyond lessons, giving the Portsmouth provision a clear religious and civic dimension.

Entry uses an application form and meeting. The age-five September route gives priority through criteria covering siblings, connections, distance and timing; the required year group, availability and admissions arrangements determine the practical route.
