Since 1708, Lucton has evolved from John Pierrepont's grammar school for local boys into an all-through co-educational day and boarding community in rural Herefordshire. Boarding expanded in 1881, girls joined in the 1970s and the setting now runs from the early years to Sixth Form, with a 55-acre campus shaping daily life.
The curriculum joins STEM, humanities, English, foreign languages and the arts with sport, equestrian activity, music, LAMDA and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. An International Football Academy, partnered with Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, gives football-focused pupils a specialist route within the wider programme.
Boarders live in School Cottage and Croft House with live-in houseparents, supervised study and weekend activities. Full-time, weekday and flexi options are available from age 7, so the boarding model can suit different patterns of attendance while remaining part of the all-through community.
Applications are welcomed during the academic year, subject to suitability and places. The route includes a private visit, UK Taster Day, online CAT4 from Year 6, an educational reference and Headteacher interview; international applicants provide extra documents.
