Classical ballet and academic study share the same working day at London Vocational Ballet School. Formerly Young Dancers Academy, it adopted its present name in September 2023. Full-time pupils from Year 6 to Year 11 receive bespoke academic tuition alongside dance training, with audition replacing a conventional secondary entrance route.
British classical technique, musicality and expression sit beside a broad, balanced academic curriculum. GCSE, iGCSE and BTEC examinations can be taken through the institution. A refurbished 1898 drill hall contains three specialist studios with sprung floors, mirrors, barres and pianos, and London cultural venues become part of academic and vocational learning.
Auditions focus on a young person's potential for a future in dance. Associate and holiday courses, together with STREAM, offer earlier contact with vocational training before full-time entry. The rhythm of studio practice, academic flexibility and audition-led intake makes this a highly specialised 10 to 16 day route.
