Life within the East London Mosque gives London East Academy a distinctive frame for boys' secondary education. The link with the mosque and its local community is part of the educational model, not simply a setting. Boys from 11 to 16 follow a day route that joins National Curriculum subjects to sustained Islamic study.
Islamic sciences, Qur'an, Arabic, Islamic history, fiqh, hadith and aqeedah sit alongside English, mathematics, science, history, computing and religious studies. Arabic and Islamiyat also feature at GCSE. Mosque-linked clubs, sport, theatre and exhibition visits, a Year 7 residential at Gilwell Park and Year 10 Snowdon fundraising climbs give the curriculum an active community dimension.
Entry is direct and may include a CAT4 assessment and an interview with parents or guardians. Academic performance, behaviour, attendance, Qur'an memorisation and alignment with the ethos are all considered.
