LGS Stoneygate brings two Leicester-area histories into one present-day identity. Stoneygate School began in the nineteenth century and Glenn Prep opened at Great Glen in 1957. The senior department moved there in 2003, joined the Leicester Grammar School Trust in 2016 and took the LGS Stoneygate name in 2021.
The route runs from the early years to Year 11. Discovery learning shapes the younger stages; later pupils take languages, computing, design, religious studies, art, drama, music and PE alongside core subjects, leading to GCSE or IGCSE study. PSHE and careers guidance give the senior timetable a practical counterpoint.
