Kingshott began in 1931 as a small boarding school for boys. Its last boarders left in 1964, girls joined in 1983, and it is now part of the Mill Hill Education Group. That evolution sits alongside a clear mission: to recognise individual strengths and help pupils develop resilience and resourcefulness.
The senior years retain a deliberately small-scale character. Years 7 to 9 combine academic challenge with individual support as the GCSE offer develops, while the Independent Project Qualification gives pupils a structured investigation of a subject they choose. More than 50 clubs and activities extend the experience across sport, music, academic interests, hobbies, outdoor learning and eco work.
Kingshott has no Sixth Form or boarding provision, and its age range ends at 16. Applications are direct, with senior entry at Years 7, 8 and 9 subject to space and assessment mornings before September. Separate 11+ and 13+ routes are available, alongside scholarship assessments for Year 7 and Year 9 applicants.
