Overview
For more than 40 years, The King's School in Fair Oak has brought primary and senior pupils together in a small Christian community. God sits at the centre of school life, alongside character, service and the expectation that every pupil is known. The co-educational day school runs from Reception to Year 11, with no boarding.
The Christian context does not narrow the subject offer. Key Stage 3 includes English, mathematics, science, history, geography, Spanish, computing, art, music, drama, food and nutrition, textiles, dance and PE. Pupils can prepare for up to 11 GCSE subjects, combining core study with creative and technical choices.
Sport on the multi-use games area, music and drama clubs, productions, debating, subject trips, a biennial ski trip and Year 10 work experience give the senior years a practical counterweight to classroom study. Entry is non-selective with no entrance examination, although pupils must be able to access the GCSE curriculum. Reception and Year 7 are the standard entry points; enquiry, references, a Headteacher or SENDCo meeting and two taster days form the route into the school.
