Eltham College

Eltham College began in 1842 as the School for the Sons of Missionaries and now occupies a 70-acre site between Eltham and Mottingham. The co-educational day school runs from junior years through Senior School and Sixth Form, with Christian values, pastoral care and intellectual curiosity continuing through its modern identity.

Senior learning is organised through Years 7-9, Years 10-11 and Years 12-13. Academic challenge sits alongside critical thinking, creativity and responsibility, while Sixth Form pupils follow their own subject choices and entry requirements. University preparation, work experience and an Oxbridge programme extend the route beyond the examination timetable.

Music, drama, art, sport, clubs, trips and service give the campus a practical and creative life. The Gerald Moore Gallery, Eric Liddell Sports Centre, theatre and library support that range of activity, with lunchtime clubs and sports opportunities open through different arrangements including invitation, selection or parental choice.

Senior admission is direct and assessment-led. External Year 7 candidates take written English and mathematics, computer-adaptive verbal and non-verbal reasoning and a one-to-one interview. Sixth Form applicants take a critical-writing paper, reasoning assessment and interview, with six GCSEs at grade 7 as the stated minimum. Eltham has no boarding provision.
