Elizabeth House School is inseparable from the residential care setting around it. The very small boys' provision serves pupils living at Elizabeth House Children's Home through Hexagon Care Services; five pupils were on roll in March 2026, with none using the post-16 provision at that point.
The work is for boys whose education may have been disrupted. Community settling, routines, sensitive behaviour support and personal-development work provide structure. Climbing, woodwork, pottery, community activity and careers guidance put practical interests alongside classroom learning.
March 2026 brought significant limitations as well as a broad, ambitious curriculum. Achievement, curriculum and teaching, inclusion, and leadership and governance required improvement. Pupils were not consistently building enough fluency in reading, writing and mathematics, and staff did not yet have a secure understanding of every pupil's special educational needs.
Safeguarding, personal development, welfare, premises and information standards were met; quality of education and leadership standards were not. The small roll and residential-care context are integral to this specialist provision, rather than incidental background.
